Biometric Consent

Disclosure and consent for the collection and use of voice and audio data.

1. Introduction

Dorthi collects and uses voice and audio data when you use certain features — including the Interview (where you can record and transcribe answers), voice calls with a Dorthi, and voice sample uploads. This notice describes what we collect, how we use it, and your consent. In some jurisdictions (e.g. Illinois, Texas), this may be considered biometric data; we provide this disclosure and obtain your consent where required.

2. What We Collect

When you use voice features, we may collect:

  • Voice recordings from Interview (when you record answers), voice calls, and voice sample uploads.
  • Transcripts generated from your voice (e.g. for Interview answers or voice calls).

This collection occurs only when you choose to use microphone or voice upload features.

3. How We Use It

We use voice and audio data to:

  • Provide conversation and voice features (e.g. transcribe your Interview answers, run voice calls).
  • Train and improve your Dorthi (e.g. using your voice samples and Interview content to better represent you).
  • Store and process this data as needed to operate the Service, including using third-party transcription or voice services.

4. Retention & Deletion

We retain voice and transcript data as needed to provide the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Legal hub or support). We will process deletion requests in accordance with our policy and applicable law.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding biometric data (e.g. right to be informed, right to deletion). To exercise these rights or for questions, contact us via the Legal hub or support. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

By using voice features, you confirm you have read and accept this Biometric Consent.
