At Dorthi, we take privacy seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Your mind is yours

We do not sell your data. We do not use your private conversations or voice data for advertising. We use your data only to provide and improve the Service. For voice and biometric data, see our Biometric Consent notice.

1. Data We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide the Service:

  • Account: Email, name, and encrypted password (and OTP for verification).
  • Profile (creators): Name, headline, bio, profile image, organization, role, and other profile fields you provide.
  • Conversations & messages: Content of chats and voice interactions with your Dorthi (or with a creator's Dorthi if you are audience).
  • Voice & audio: Recordings and transcripts from Interview, voice calls, and voice samples (see Voice & Biometric Data).
  • Knowledge content: Files, URLs, notes, Q&A, and other content you add to Mind.
  • Usage: How you use the product (e.g. feature usage, errors) to improve the Service.
  • Device: Basic device/OS information for compatibility and security.
  • Payment: Billing is processed by Stripe; we may store minimal billing metadata (e.g. plan, status).

2. How We Use Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the Service (e.g. run your Dorthi, process voice, store conversations).
  • Train and improve your Dorthi based on your knowledge and interactions.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Support you and respond to inquiries.
  • Improve security and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Voice & Biometric Data

We collect and process voice/audio when you use Interview (record and transcribe), voice calls, or voice sample uploads. This data is used to provide conversation and training features. For details on purpose, retention, and your rights, see our Biometric Consent notice.

4. Third Parties

We work with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Stripe: Payment processing; see Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Google: OAuth sign-in; see Google's privacy policy.
  • Hosting & API: Infrastructure to run the Service.
  • Voice/transcription: To provide voice and transcription features.

We require these providers to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Conversation and voice data are retained as needed to provide the Service and as described in our Biometric Consent. You may request deletion of your data (see Your Rights). We may retain certain data where required by law or for legitimate purposes (e.g. security, disputes).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email provided in our Legal hub. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, authentication, and preferences. We do not sell cookie data or use it for third-party advertising.

8. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the revised policy and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via email or in-app notice.
